Otematata Wetlands
It’s a 6.7 km route with about 25m of vert through the beautiful Otematata Wetlands. You get views over the wetlands, Lake Aviemore, the surrounding mountains and a large metal sculpture.
The trail is very runnable. Mostly it is firmly packed fine gravel with a small (200m) section of single track and some grass.
There are mens’ and womens’ public toilets available at the corral and approximately 4km around the course.
Here’s a Strava link.

Boat Harbour Camp Ground
We have the use of the Boat Harbour Campground at Otematata.
The campground is next to the main boat ramp heading onto Lake Aviemore at Otematata. This is a very sheltered spot in amongst tall mature trees with a large open spot in the middle.
There will be space for each person to have a 3m by 3m gazebo close to the corral.
If you want to use a vehicle for your support you can but you won’t be as close to the corral.
You will need your own food and camping equipment. There is tapped water (boiling recommended) and are mens’ and womens’ public toilets available. Extra portaloos will be available also.
You can get supplies at the shop in Otematata. There will be food and drink vendors on site also.
This is a self-supported event with no aid stations provided. Your own supporters are welcome. See this page for Supporters Info.
Have a look at His and Hers Endurance Event Kitz if you want to take the hassle out of finding gear, setting up and packing down!
